The Referral Process
We accept referrals 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. Patients will only be treated for the condition which they are referred. Should other issues arise, you will be notified so that an appropriate treatment plan may be arranged. Routine procedures and general health care are services best performed by you and your staff, therefore these services are not performed at LIVS. We encourage all clients to return to their primary care veterinarian for follow-up care and to maintain an active relationship with their pet’s general practice veterinarian. You or your staff will be contacted by telephone within 24 hours of a consultation, or the performance of any procedure on a referred patient. Additionally, a written report will be sent to your office within 48 hours.
When emailing radiographs for consultation, please put either the LIVS doctor's name or department in the subject line. Please send all radiographs and correspondence to Radiographs@LIVS.org
An itemized treatment plan with an estimate of costs for emergency or specialty care is provided to owners prior to patients being admitted to the hospital. Payment is due at time of service. Cash, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express are acceptable forms of payment as well as CareCredit. Unfortunately, checks are no longer accepted.
