Our veterinary specialty center is a 30,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility. The hospital employs dedicated LVTs and assistants to provide optimum support, and facilitate successful and rewarding interactions with clients and patients. We have well-established clientele and a fully equipped ICU staffed 24 hours.
Long Island Veterinary Specialists houses a team of 150 caring professionals and is home to over 13 Board Certified specialists in a variety of disciplines including Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Surgery, Neurology, Oncology, Rehabilitation, and Internal Medicine. LIVS is a highly respected teaching facility and has maintained residency and internship training programs in a variety of disciplines. We are committed to technological advancement and utilize some of the most progressive imaging modalities including a G.E. Logitec ultrasound, Storz HD endoscopy system, Philips 3 Tesla MRI, Philips MX8000 multi-detector CT scanner, two digital radiography suites and an in-house fluoroscopy suite to facilitate interventional procedures.
While Long Island is known for its pristine beaches, including Fire Island National Seashore and the Hamptons, a lesser known treasure is the vineyards of the island’s east end. More than 40 vineyards cultivate the grapes in the sun-drenched region. Long Island also boasts one of the finest state park systems in the country. Fifteen parks offer outstanding golf courses, tennis courts, and horseback riding trails. With more than 1,180 miles of shoreline, Long Island is one of the world’s premier boating and fishing destinations. Close proximity to New York City (30 minutes by car or train) affords unique cultural and recreational opportunities.
