Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)

We are hiring full-time New York State Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs) to provide patient care in several departments.

Job duties may include general nursing care and medication administration, anesthesia administration and monitoring, post-surgical care, use of in house laboratory, radiography, IV catheterization, and collection of blood and urine samples. We will train and cross train new staff members, so the sky is the limit. Recent graduates are welcome. Patient Service Coordinators

This position coordinates highly personalized client and patient services. The right candidates will establish professional relationship with their assigned clients and provide support, information, and patient updates, while assuring families that LIVS provides the highest level of veterinary medical care. Responsibilities include auditing invoices, handling medication refill requests, patient admissions and discharges, and other aspects of client and patient services.

Veterinary Assistants

Get started in the veterinary profession!

The role of the veterinary assistant is to provide care for all hospitalized patients under the direction of the veterinary technicians and veterinarians. The assistant is responsible for patient cleanliness and comfort, patient restraint, feeding patients, and adhering to hospital cleaning protocols, and documentation of findings in medical records.

Job Requirements:

  • Display tact, professionalism, and diplomacy with clients, LIVS personnel, and fellow staff members

  • Interact intelligibly and pleasantly with clients and staff

  • Exercise attention to detail

  • Flexibility with assigned tasks

  • Applicant must be flexible and able to work any area of the hospital

  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds and stand for extended periods of time

Our veterinary specialty center is a newly renovated 30,000 square-foot state-of-the-art 24-hour referral and emergency hospital located in Long Island, NY. LIVS is home to a team of 180 caring professionals in a variety of disciplines including Cardiology, Dermatology, Integrative Medicine, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Rehabilitation, and Surgery. We have well-established clientele and a fully equipped ICU staffed 24/7/365.
