An accurate diagnosis is always the first step

Sometimes the only way to "see" inside the body to identify a source of pain or disease is through diagnostic imaging—a non-invasive method of taking pictures of your pet’s body in order to diagnose disease.

It’s important to know that, at LIVS, we use the same highly advanced diagnostic imaging technologies used at human hospitals.

3.0 Tesla MR Imaging Station

The advanced diagnostic imaging capabilities we offer

  • CT scan (computed tomography)

  • Digital radiography

  • MRI (magnetic resonance imaging): LIVS is one of only two private practices in the U.S. with a powerful 3.0 Tesla magnet for the highest-quality images

  • Ultrasound with color flow Doppler

  • Thermography, which uses infrared images to diagnose problems; notably, LIVS is the only veterinary specialty hospital that regularly uses diagnostic thermography, with two in-house specialists who are Diplomates of the American College of Clinical Thermology

  • Fluoroscopy

Appointments for CT scans and radiographs (x-rays) may be coordinated through all departments.
